The Foundation of Death and Yoga's, Yoga

I'm  a little different and here's the tea:

I teach yoga with an emphasis on neuroplastic psychology.

Neuroplastic psychology means that your brain is malleable to be retrained and reprogrammed when it is fed new information like thoughts or actions (movement) over time, especially consistently.

I use my meditation, asana, and psychology (M.A.P.) guidelines that reinforce neuroplasticity to offer a more holistic yoga practice that reflects and supports you being a complete, evolving person.

Ok, but triathlon and cancer?

It may seem like triathletes and cancer have nothing to do with each other, but they are more closely connected in the world than you may at first see.

Firstly, there are many organizations aligned with sports and activity to fight against cancer, bring awareness to cancer, and support those affected by cancer. I got my start with raising money for one in exchange for professional coaching to get me through my first Olympic distance triathlon.

I dedicated my first triathlon to my father who passed of cancer when I was 21. And I am still doing triathlons 16 years later.

Secondly, triathlon and cancer are both worlds where what your brain is programmed to think, can greatly affect your outcome. This is true for all of life, but  here they are the same practice at opposite ends of the spectrum.

In triathlon, you choose to be there, to train and race in the rain, wind, cold, and heat, to be directly challenged. You choose to show up at the start line and for that matter, to cross the finish line - because not everyone starts and not everyone who starts, finishes.

In cancer, you do not choose to be there. You are handed a deck of cards. However, you can still choose how you show up each day to face life with cancer. How your brain thinks about your situation will make a huge difference in how you experience your treatments and can be influential in your overall recovery journey.

In short, your psychology, what your brain is programmed to think is what drives you, shapes your actions and ultimately your experience. Your life will reflect back and support what you believe. It’s like the line, “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right.”

Practicing yoga with me includes work on your neural programming, again, using meditation, mantras, and movement. The way you think is the basis for how you live your life period.

To be honest, this is likely the more challenging aspect of your practice over the physical asana practice, because it’s hard to face and change who you are or who you think you are and the deeply grooved beliefs that have been embedded by culture, society, and ancestry to become who you want to be.

But, I believe in you and if you’re up for it, I would love for you to join me in one of my programs.

Choice is always in your control and everything is anitya - temporary.

You can do hard things. And you get to.
